Package valued up to $182,461 + incentives (where applicable). Base salary ranges from $101,122 – $160,983* plus leave loading and superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum available dependent on professional experience. *Note there is no automatic progression to the $160,983 SPAC salary level.

About the Role
Full Time: 1.0 FTE. The successful candidate will be based at Waitara Public School and provided opportunities to work across primary and high school aged students. The role is collegiate, offering unique challenges and opportunities for professional development and a real impact on children and young people.
School psychologists are an essential part of the Department's school counselling service, providing counselling and psychological assessment of students to strengthen learning and wellbeing outcomes, and helping families manage their children's mental health needs.
Professionals will receive individual supervision with the Senior Psychologist Education and group peer supervision as part of the broader school counselling team. Opportunities exist for multidisciplinary collaboration and professional development, including support for NSW Board of Australia registration.

Key Accountabilities
* Provide counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups, including short‐term therapeutic interventions within the scope of training and supervision.
* Engage with and implement the Professional Practice Framework procedures for the NSW School Counselling Service.
* Consult with the principal, school executive, staff and student support services to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities.
* Contribute to students' social, emotional and academic development, supporting those with complex behavioural needs.
* Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, report results, and collaborate to improve learning, wellbeing and mental health outcomes.
* Collaborate with learning and support teams, parents/carers and other agencies to develop appropriate school‐based support for students.
* Respond as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
* Refer students and/or their families and carers to other agencies to support development of student health and wellbeing outcomes.
Essential Requirements
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG Inc., and the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance – WWCC must be NSW.
* Current and valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
