About the role
Torquay Bowls Club Inc' is seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our dynamic team in Torquay, VIC. As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our members and guests. This is a full-time position based in our Torquay club.
What you'll be doing
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
2. Coordinating and supervising a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff
3. Ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained
4. Developing and implementing innovative menu items that showcase your culinary expertise
5. Collaborating with the management team to align the kitchen's offerings with the club's vision and goals
6. Monitoring and managing kitchen budgets and inventory
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role within the hospitality industry
2. Formal culinary training and qualifications.
3. Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen management
4. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
5. Exceptional communication and customer service skills
6. Adaptability and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
7. Knowledge of food and beverage trends, as well as a commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing
