About the Business
We are an established mobile hose repair business servicing industrial and commercial clients. Demand for our services is strong, and we are now entering a planned growth phase with a clear objective: triple the size of the business over the next five years. Currently we have 2 Fully stocked Trucks and 2 Hose fitters.
* To achieve this, we are seeking an Operations Business Development Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations and long-term growth execution. As the company continues to grow, there will be scope to separate the Operations and Business Development functions, creating future leadership opportunities.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to run and grow a business, not just maintain it.
The Opportunity
As Operations and Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Driving and executing a structured growth plan
* Managing all daily operations
* Leading and developing the team
* Ensuring strong safety, compliance, and customer outcomes
You will have real authority, autonomy, and accountability, with performance incentives directly tied to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Expansion
* Deliver a 5-year growth plan to triple revenue and job volume
* Expand fleet, team, and service capability in line with demand
* Identify new customers, contracts, and market opportunities
* Improve operational efficiency and scalability
Operations & Service Delivery
* Oversee daily job scheduling and allocation
* Ensure efficient technician utilisation and response times
* Maintain service quality across all jobs
* Implement systems and processes to support scale
Financial & Commercial Management
* Oversee customer invoicing and cash flow coordination
* Manage stock purchasing and inventory control
* Control costs and improve margins
* Support pricing and customer agreements
People Leadership
* Recruit, train, and manage technicians and support staff
* Set performance standards and conduct reviews
* Build a strong safety-first, customer-focused culture
Customer & Compliance Management
* Manage customer relationships and resolve complaints
* Maintain WHS, environmental, and industry compliance
* Lead safety systems, audits, and continuous improvement
About You
You are a practical business operator who thrives in fast-moving service environments.
You will likely have:
* Experience managing or scaling a trade, industrial, or mobile service business
* Strong operational and people leadership skills
* Commercial and financial acumen
* Experience managing field-based teams
* A proactive, accountable, and solutions-focused mindset
Industry experience in hydraulics, mechanical services, mining, industrial maintenance, or similar is highly regarded but not essential.
