Café 63 Castletown is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join its vibrant team. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from our diverse menu, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. The Cook will maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, and adhere to all food safety and health regulations. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, along with a passion for creating delicious, fresh, and visually appealing meals. Task & responsibilitiesTask & Responsibilities
* Examine food and stocks to ensure quality and freshness
* Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
* Prepare and cook food using appropriate methods
* Portion food and arrange it attractively on plates
* Add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to prepared dishes
* Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain safety and quality
* Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, religious needs)
* May assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements
* May train and supervise other kitchen staff and apprentices
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the kitchen
Qualification & experienceQualification & Experience
* Minimum certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant work experience.
* Minimum 1 years of experience in a related position.
* Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate the team.
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
