Job Description
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Property Programme Coordinator to join our Capital Delivery team and provide consistent coordination and delivery support across the Ministry's nationwide property projects.
Our Property team delivers a significant programme of construction, refurbishment, relocation, and courthouse fit-out projects across New Zealand. This role sits at the centre of that delivery activity and supports Project Managers to deliver projects effectively.
This is not an administrative coordination role and it is not a pathway into general programme management. Instead, the role provides practical coordination and project support across multiple property delivery projects, ensuring consistency of processes, documentation, financial tracking, and procurement inputs.
By strengthening coordination across the programme, this role enables our Project Managers to focus on project delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
You will work across capital works, relocations and minor works projects, helping maintain delivery discipline and ensuring the programme runs smoothly.
Examples Of The Work You Will Do Include
* Coordinating delivery activity across multiple property construction and refurbishment projects
* Maintaining project documentation, registers, and reporting across the programme
* Supporting procurement activities for consultants and contractors
* Project finance activities involving paying invoices, verifying project budgets, financial commitments, and undertaking year-end reconciliations
* Ensuring property delivery templates, processes, and standards are applied consistently
* Supporting programme reporting and maintaining accurate delivery information
* Responsible for the Project Steering Committee (PSG) Governance activities
* Contributing to continuous improvement of Property delivery processes
This role works closely with Project Managers but does not replace project leadership responsibilities. Its purpose is to strengthen the coordination and operational discipline of property delivery across the programme.
Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience
This role requires practical exposure to property, construction, or capital works environments. Applicants without this experience are unlikely to be suitable for this role.
Relevant Experience May Include
* Working within a property or construction delivery team
* Supporting capital works or building refurbishment projects
* Coordinating aspects of construction, fit-out, or relocation projects
* Working with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, or contractors
* Managing project documentation, procurement inputs, or delivery reporting within property projects
* Supporting delivery of building upgrades, maintenance programmes, or fit-outs
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Demonstrate
* Experience working in property or construction project environments
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confidence coordinating work across multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to manage documentation, financial tracking, and reporting
* Good communication and stakeholder engagement capability
* Sound judgement and the ability to identify issues early
* A practical interest in how property projects are delivered
Relevant Qualifications May Include
* Construction project management
* Property or facilities management
* Architecture or engineering
* Or equivalent experience in the built environment
If your background is primarily general administration or programme coordination without exposure to property or construction projects, this role will not be the right fit.
When applying, please ensure your CV or cover letter clearly outlines the property or building projects you have supported and the nature of your involvement.
Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $85,562 and $116,273 based on skills and experience.
