Job Title: Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist
This is a senior clinical leadership role in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within NSLHD PARVAN Sexual Assault Service.
The successful applicant will employ advanced clinical skills, exercising extended autonomy of decision-making, working closely with managers and other senior clinicians. They will function under the guidance of the PARVAN Adult Clinical Medical Lead and the PARVAN Sexual Assault Service Manager in the integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic management of victims of sexual assault (aged 14 years and older).
The position also involves assisting PARVAN Sexual Assault Service Medical staff in the integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic management (e.g. act as examination assistant) of children aged 13 years and younger.
Additionally, the role includes involvement in the clinical service provision for victims of domestic family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in the 24 hour / 7 day per week on-call roster.
* Regular team meetings.
* Quality improvement activities.
* Administrative tasks.
* Research and education delivery as appropriate.
Requirements:
* Current registration as Registered Nurse and relevant post registration qualification and 3 years postgraduate experience working in the clinical area of the postgraduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated NSW Health Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner accreditation or extensive clinical nursing experience and a willingness to undergo formal training, assessment and supervision such as the ECAV Graduate Certificate in Medical and Forensic Management of Sexual assault, within 12 months of employment.
* The ability to work in a clinical environment with patients who have experienced Violence, Abuse and Neglect, and who may present as highly distressed, and to provide high quality trauma informed culturally safe care.
