Senior Commercial Finance Manager/Head of Finance, TA&P & Corporate

Reporting to the General Manager of Finance for The Australian & Prestige mastheads (TA&P), Technology, Data & Digital (TDD), Investment Management & Corporate Functions, this role will be responsible for the financial performance of TA&P and Corporate Functions. This will be delivered through the execution and delivery of high-quality reporting, analysis, and insight to support informed business decisions on performance and future growth opportunities. You must have a proven track record in financial leadership roles and be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines to support and drive long-term profitability.
Given the right experience and suitability, we are open to discussing the possibility of this role being appointed at a 'Head of Finance' level.
Responsibilities
Build collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, including the divisional finance teams and business partners
P&L Management across the relevant Print/Digital Publications and relevant functions including third party reporting requirements
Ensure accurate, relevant and timely communication of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and all relevant project reporting,highlight key risks or opportunities
Develop robust business cases for new product initiatives, optimisation strategies and revenue growth opportunities
Track performance insights and post investment evaluation reporting
Oversee monthly revenue and expense accounts and support the team in their BAU activities
Lead the development, engagement and progression of team members (3 direct reports)
Contribute to all regulatory, financial reporting and compliance requirements
Identify process improvements and execute on approved initiatives
Ad-hoc work as required
Who are you?
You will be a CA/CPA qualified finance professional who has had commercial experience in FMCG, retail, media or a similar industry
High impact self-starting individual, resourceful and solution-driven
Strong Leadership and mentoring skills, ensuring high-quality work and professional development
Excellent financial acumen, with experience in revenue and cost management, business case development, financial modelling, partnering & influencing
Sound planning capabilities and presentation skills required
Experience working in a complex matrix environment will be advantageous
