Overview
The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Project Engineers to join the Substation team. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure that all civil aspects of the project are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The role will require travel to the camp and site near Mudgee and work on a 14 day on/7 day off roster.
Location may involve working as part of a joint venture. Your employment may be with either of the parent companies, and this will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review civil engineering designs and calculations for substation foundations, gantries, and associated structures
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and client specifications
- Address quality and environmental aspects of the project to maintain effective operation and project delivery
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure workmanship meets specifications
- Communicate program to subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff to maintain commitment
- Assist in managing cost control for certain aspects of the project to meet performance targets
- Lead, motivate, and mentor site personnel to foster positive team dynamics and outcomes
- Develop and monitor construction methods including audits
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, reports, and as-built records
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans for civil works
- Address client queries and concerns related to civil works in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in foundations, ideally in substations
- Problem solving / analytical skills
- Geotechnical interpretation
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
- Working knowledge of HS&E; requirements and implementation
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups
