What You'll Be Doing
This role is based in Perth and will have accountability for:
* People Leadership & Capability Development: Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to Business Analysts across all levels; conduct structured career development conversations, skills assessments, and individual development plans; support analysts with delivery challenges by offering guidance without becoming operationally embedded in delivery teams; champion the wellbeing, engagement, and motivation of the teams' members.
* Business Analysis Standards, Methodology & Practice Leadership: Define, maintain, and continuously improve best-practice frameworks, templates, and tools for business analysis; ensure consistency and quality of BA work, including requirements definition, process analysis, documentation standards, and backlog refinement practices; lead development of modern analytical techniques (e.g., design thinking, Agile analysis, value mapping); facilitate the sharing and reuse of BA assets, patterns, and tools.
* Performance Management: Set clear goals and expectations for team members; conduct regular check-ins and formal performance reviews; lead recognition and remediation processes as required; manage BA capacity planning and workload assignment in coordination with Delivery and the PMO.
* Recruitment, Onboarding & Workforce Planning: Lead recruitment activities for Business Analysts, including role definition, interviewing, and selection; develop and maintain a BA capability uplift roadmap, succession plans, and talent pipelines; oversee onboarding programs to ensure new analysts are integrated effectively and rapidly become productive; maintain an understanding of future capability needs aligned to organisational strategy.
* Knowledge Sharing & Team Operations: Facilitate structured team ceremonies (e.g., meetings, workshops, training sessions); promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement; collect and disseminate lessons learned across delivery teams; ensure team members have access to relevant training, certifications, and professional development opportunities.
Essential
* 5+ years of experience as a Lead Business Analyst in Agile environments (Broking or Financial Services experience advantageous).
* Strong leadership and coaching capability, with demonstrated experience managing people and mentoring teams.
* Deep expertise in business analysis methods, frameworks, and best practices.
* Proven ability to uplift capability and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience working with Delivery Managers and cross-functional teams.
Desirable
* Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
* Certification(s) in business analysis (IIBA CBAP/CCBA/ECBA), Agile (Scrum, SAFe), or related frameworks.
* Experience managing communities of practice or craft teams.
* Exposure to design thinking or customer journey mapping.
