The Opportunity
Our Hobart-based team are seeking an organised and motivated individual to support the delivery of our services towards our clients land, building and infrastructure related projects. This position includes a range of responsibilities and plays an essential role in maintaining the organisational structure and efficiency of our operations enabling PDA to provide an exceptional level of service to our clients.
Once sufficiently trained, the successful candidate will have the capability to work autonomously, assist with the coordination of an array of multi-disciplinary land, building and infrastructure related projects, and provide administrative support to our professional staff and project managers. Strong multi-tasking abilities, effective communication and exceptional organisational skills are essential in supporting the successful delivery of our projects from start to finish.
On-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Desirable Criteria
* An understanding of the functions undertaken by Surveyors, Engineers and Town Planners and their role in development.
* Familiarity with local and state government development processes.
* Certificate III Business Services (or higher), or relevant experience.
* Professional attitude and appearance.
* Excellent computer skills including Word processing and Spreadsheets.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Ability to think practically, use initiative and work autonomously
Responsibilities
The position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Assisting Directors and Project Managers with the coordination and administration of projects.
* Liaise with clients, sub-contractors and authorities.
* Preparation of tender and fee proposals for Directors and Project Managers.
* Assist and liaise with Managers regarding resource allocation and scheduling.
* Maintain and report project statuses across multiple disciplines.
* Assist with preparation of instructions to Solicitors for necessary legal documents for lodgement in support of land related dealings.
* Preparation of lodgement documentation and lodgement of survey and legal documents with Council and the Land Titles Office.
* Assist with the financial tracking and invoicing of projects.
* Support other corporate and administrative tasks for the company as a whole or other offices/divisions where needed e.g., system improvements, implementation and development of documentation etc.
* General administration duties including reception assistance when required
