Line Operator – Production Worker

About the Role
Join the team at Harris Smokehouse as a full-time Line Operator based in Mount Barker, SA. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for managing a designated machine production line, ensuring optimal efficiency, minimal downtime, and the consistent delivery of high-quality premium food products.
This position operates in a fast-paced, chilled production environment and requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Operate and manage a specific machine production line safely and efficiently
* Monitor line performance to ensure production targets and quality standards are met
* Conduct quality checks and identify defects or inconsistencies
* Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
* Maintain accurate production records and communicate line updates clearly
* Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to improve processes
* Adhere strictly to all food safety, WHS, and quality assurance procedures
* Support main production lines when necessary
* Close down procedures including cleaning
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar production role
* Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to manage line efficiency
* High attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Ability to follow all food safety HACCP and WHS procedures
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
* Physically fit and capable of standing for long periods
* Ability to lift up to 20kg
* Comfortable working in a chilled environment
* Positive, reliable, and proactive approach to work
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
