Job Overview
DWS is seeking an experienced Database Engineer with skills in designing and managing schemas for a major application and platform modernisation project, part of an enterprise-wide digital transformation programme.
Working alongside the client's own team, you will be accountable for database setup, schema optimisation, data integrity, and assisting data migration into new cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and manage relational and non-relational database schemas across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
* Develop data modelling, migration scripts, and data transformation solutions.
* Ensure database setup, schema optimisation, data integrity, and assist data migration into new cloud platforms under strict security controls.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience working in government or public sector projects.
* Proficiency in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.
* Strong data modelling and database administration skills.
* Familiarity with cloud platform migrations and security best practices.
* Capability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple locations.
Employment Details
Type: Max Term
Length: Initially up to 6 months, extensions possible
Start: Immediate (max 2 weeks' notice)
Location: Sydney; working from both Parramatta and Macquarie Park sites (hybrid, 3 days per week in the offices)
Rate: up to $145K (inc super) depending on experience
