The team

The Enforcement & Compliance Group (ECG) is one of ASIC's largest and most influential business groups. ECG is responsible for identifying, assessing and responding to potential misconduct across Australia's financial system. The group oversees the full lifecycle of enforcement activity, from early inquiries and compliance assessments through to major investigations and litigation. Working closely with inhouse lawyers and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, ECG delivers outcomes that protect consumers, uphold market integrity and reinforce trust in the financial system. The work is diverse, fast paced and impactful, offering exposure to significant issues affecting Australians every day.

Within ECG, Investigators may work in one of two key teams:

* Enforcement Inquiries & Compliance (EIC) - EIC conducts early, targeted inquiries into reports of potential misconduct. These specialist teams rapidly assess risk, gather preliminary evidence and determine the most appropriate regulatory pathway. * Investigations (IEA) - IEA manages complex investigations into suspected breaches of financial services and corporations' law. These teams analyse data, intelligence and evidentiary material, conduct compulsory examinations and interviews, prepare briefs for administrative, civil or criminal action, and support proceedings in State and Federal courts. Their work is strategic, detailed and central to ASIC's enforcement capability, delivering outcomes with real impact across Australia's financial system.

The role

As an Enforcement Investigator (ASIC 3 or ASIC 4), you will contribute to uncovering and addressing suspected misconduct. You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams across both inquiry and investigation contexts.
