About the opportunity
Join our Industrial Automation support team in the Pacific Zone (Australia and New Zealand). The Software Technical Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth operations for customers, troubleshooting and diagnosing faults across SCADA verticals and products supported (including GeoSCADA, AVEVA System Platform and AVEVA Plant SCADA). The role collaborates with pre-sales, sales, quotes and procurement to focus on the customer end-to-end experience.
Key responsibilities
- Own, investigate and resolve complex software issues, proposing workarounds for customers
- Accurate and timely documentation of activities and findings in the case management system
- Contribute to digital self-help materials and maintain an internal knowledge base
- Collaborate with colleagues in other support centers and departments
- Focus on customer experience with regular, empathetic communication while delivering technical resolutions
- Learning continuously and actively contributing to the team and customers
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have 2–4 years of experience in Application Support within a large, established business (supporting mainstream software applications and various customers). You should have a good understanding of software architecture, software unit testing, and other aspects of the SDLC. A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred, along with familiarity with software and automation hardware communications and setup.
Key skills and experience
- Experience with AVEVA System Platform and Plant SCADA or GEO SCADA is advantageous
- Understanding of Windows OS, networking concepts, and security
- Knowledge of Windows tools and commands for diagnosing and troubleshooting software
- Experience integrating hardware and software
- Quick thinking, self-motivated, and able to maintain customer satisfaction while resolving issues
