You will work closely with the Solution Architect and project stakeholders to define, analyse, and document the requirements for secure data exchange solutions (Guards and Gateways). Your primary role will be interpreting functional and non-functional requirements and performance specifications for complex operational needs and adherence to NATO standards for Federated Mission Networking (FMN) into clear use stories for the technical delivery teams. This position is vital for ensuring the designed solutions meet operational requirements with adherence to NATO STANAG for interoperability, data-centric security and compliance to Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) security controls and organisation policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, operational users, and subject matter experts to interpret, analyse, and validate detailed functional and non-functional requirements for Gateways and Guard solutions comprising of next generation firewalls and cross domain guards.
- Create, manage, and refine the product backlog and user stories in an agile delivery environment, ensuring stories are clearly defined, estimated, and "ready" for development sprints.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies related to requirements, including story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring continuous feedback loops with stakeholders.
- Work alongside the Solution Architect to ensure requirements align with the overall architectural vision, technical constraints, and designated security technologies such as Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Isode m-Guard cross-domain guard solutions.
- Conduct thorough gap analyses between current system capabilities and required FMN interoperability standards (NATO STANAGs), identifying necessary changes to processes, systems, and policy configurations.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including requirement specifications, process flows, and technical specifications as needed, supplementing agile documentation practices.
- Ensure all requirements incorporate data-centric security principles, clearly defining rules for data classification, access control, message filtering (e.g., XML schema validation), and secure data transfer across security domains.
- Support the development and execution of test plans (User Acceptance Testing - UAT), ensuring implemented solutions meet the defined requirements and compliance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and review sessions with stakeholders to achieve consensus on requirements and track changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary liaison between product owners and technical development teams, ensuring a shared understanding of project scope and deliverables.
- Assist in managing project scope, risks, issues, and changes, providing clear communication to project management and the Solution Architect.
