Senior Communications Advisor - Transport Infrastructure Project
Location: Maroochydore QLD 4558
Rate: $78-$83 per hour (based on experience)
Full-time, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
About the Role
Our Client Queensland Government is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to lead communications and community engagement for a major transport infrastructure project. This role is key to shaping public messaging, strengthening community relationships, and ensuring the project's reputation is well-managed through strategic and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic communication plans
* Lead stakeholder engagement and public consultation
* Create content for media releases, social media, newsletters, and updates
* Coordinate messaging with internal and external stakeholders
* Manage crisis communication and issues resolution
* Monitor media and community sentiment
* Provide expert advice to leadership and mentor junior staff
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in communications/community engagement (infrastructure or government)
* International Association of Public Participation Certification (or willingness to obtain)
* National Police Clearance dated within the last 12 months
* Strong writing, media, and stakeholder management skills
* Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing (desirable)
* Class C Driver's Licence (desirable)
* Familiarity with Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia framework (a plus)
