Jaws Buckets & Attachments is located in Archerfield. We are Australia's largest privately owned provider of specialised equipment for the mining industry. The Role
You will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with the engineering team. Your role involves using your creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise to improve our offerings.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting engineering analysis and simulations to optimize designs and ensure product performance.
* Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, including engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
* Collaborating with stakeholders to meet design expectations.
* Developing manufacturing drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
* Contributing to Research and Engineering projects.
* Participating in prototype development and testing to validate design concepts.
* Ensuring project compliance with industry standards by preparing the necessary technical documents, including engineering certification.
* Providing certification for engineering designs and drawings.
* Conducting customer site visits, both domestically and internationally if needed, to support project requirements.
The Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role, including experience in earth-moving equipment attachment design.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) (required).
* Experience in certifying engineering designs and drawings (required).
* Advanced SolidWorks skills (SolidWorks Composer experience is an added advantage).
* Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software, including Ansys and SolidWorks Simulation.
* Proficiency in creating manufacturing drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of basic hydraulic principles.
* Understanding of relevant industry standards.
* Familiarity with welding methods and materials.
* Excellent teamwork skills.
* Manufacturing processes and procedures experience.
* Familiarity with EPDM or Vault.
* Australian Work Rights.
