What to Expect
The Commercial Energy Asset Manager is responsible for the oversight of commercial and operational deliverables for deployed commercial & industrial (C&I) battery energy storage projects portfolio. This includes the continuous evaluation of improved operations, system performance, and site level profitability for Tesla's fleet of commercial scale BESS assets.
What You'll Do
* Facilitate, in coordination with other internal teams (field service, site operations, finance & accounting) to monitor and challenge the operational performance of active energy storage sites. Review optimization metrics to achieve project's highest possible availability and gross profit.
* Manage day-to-day external stakeholder relationships with end customers, project developers, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, service providers, local and state authorities, plus other parties needed to operate the asset.
* Work closely with the onsite operations team to ensure safe and efficient operations of the asset.
* Manage and resolve legal, contractual, regulatory, and commercial issues as they arise.
* Ensure compliance with all project's governing documents including Power Purchase Agreements, O&M Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, land leases, etc.
* Review reoccurring reports on project performance as needed per contractual obligations and drive the closure of open cases / inquiries across the portfolio.
* Negotiate contracts renewals or provide additional services proposals as needed.
* Monitor and influence all maintenance and operations for the assets based on fleet health, organizational priorities, and current fiscal relationship with end customer.
* Work with internal and external resources to develop strategies that maximize revenue and reduce risk and market exposure of the asset.
* Strong commercial skills to manage various complex commercial / contractual matters over the lifecycle of projects.
What You'll Bring
* Background in Engineering, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
* Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
* Good understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting, and contract/warranty negotiations.
* Strong learning skills with aptitude to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas.
* Strong interpersonal skills together with excellent verbal and written skills.
* Ability to travel both regionally within the state and interstate when required.
* Prior operational experience and risk-based lifecycle management at solar, wind, thermal, coal or hydro industries is a plus.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action through his/her influence. Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills.
* Self-motived with the ability to work with little supervision.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multitask managing heavy workload.
