Suncare Support Worker - what's involved in the role?

This is a rewarding community-based role where you will be supported by engaged managers and have ongoing support. We are seeking a Casual Support Worker to provide support to our customers in Bundaberg region .

The role of a Suncare Support Worker actively supports the individual needs of aged people who are living at home, either independently or with family. No two days are the same with our customers and may include delivering personal care, household domestic assistance (cleaning bathrooms, mopping, dusting), meal preparation, accompanying them on shopping trips, appointments, community activities, providing general companionship, and helping them build social networks.

Hours of work for a Support Worker are typically rostered within Monday to Friday between 7am to 7pm.

About you

A background and qualification in community services is advantageous, but just as important are the attributes that you possess that speak to our values. We want our customers to have a great experience with our people, and our people need to have a great attitude, be friendly, willing to learn new things, and most importantly listen and understand what the customer wants. For this position you will be required to be physically fit, hold a valid Driver's Licence and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring that your vehicle is appropriately insured. A National Police Check and CPR and First Aid certificates are required in this position, and you will need to have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

As prescribed by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award the rate of pay for this classification is:

$39.55 per hour, plus superannuation for Aged Care Workers with a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent

$40.84 per hour, plus superannuation for Aged Care Workers without a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
