Sugar Research Australia is recognised as the industry body investing in a portfolio of research that drives productivity, profitability, and sustainability for the Australian sugarcane industry. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the People Unit, supporting the executive in creating a values-based culture that supports the safety of their people.
About the Role
Reporting into the CEO, you will have full responsibility of the People function and developing the strategy to drive outstanding performance, innovation, and ingenuity. This will also include the day-to-day operating functions of HR including recruitment and onboarding, performance development and management, and leading and managing industrial relations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Board and Board committees such as the People, Performance and Remuneration Committee (PPRC);
Build a solid partnership with the CEO and Senior Management;
Lead and manage compliance to HR legal and regulatory obligations and manage due diligence obligations;
Create policies, standards, and procedures to support HR obligations;
Lead, design and implement an HR strategic roadmap to support SRA in achieving its commercial and innovation goals;
Identify and effectively manage strategic and operational risks to ensure activities remain within SRA's risk appetite;
Support the executive team to deliver on SRA's strategic and financial objectives whilst building strong alignment, employee engagement, team ownership and accountability, across SRA and within the business unit;
Design and implement a contemporary People Governance Framework, People Plan, and People and Culture Roadmap;
Innovate and manage Talent capability, development and organisational effectiveness;
Manage employee rewards and benefits;
Initiate and Recruit and onboard employees; and
Lead and manage Industrial Relations frameworks.
About you
To be successful in the role you will be degree qualified in Human Resources or Business and have 7 - 10 years' experience in a Senior HRBP or Manager role. To lead some upcoming projects, you will ideally have experience leading the implementation of HR technology programs and collaborating with external partners to drive innovation in People and Culture. You will also have extensive experience leading industrial relations and HSE within heavy industry or Agribusiness to allow for an easy transition into the role. You will be an excellent communicator and enjoy building relationships across all level of stakeholder, up to board level and be able to influence, engage and champion people initiatives.
