About the job
We are seeking a highly motivated Handyperson to join our busy Engineering team. You will become involved in many areas of the hotel with the overall aim of maintaining the building and all areas within the hotel to the highest standards. This is a permanent part‑time position.
Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer you will be responsible for:
* Assist the Chief Engineer in the day‑to‑day maintenance requirements of the hotel.
* All aspects of maintenance including some painting, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling odd jobs and project work.
* Respond to a range of guest requests as a first priority.
* Servicing of plant and general equipment as directed.
* Ensuring all painted areas are maintained and in good order.
* Ensure all maintenance for room moves & guest arrivals are actioned appropriately.
* Complete tasks as part of the preventative maintenance program.
* Ensure all equipment is maintained, used and stored correctly.
* Effective use of energy and water resources.
* Assisting team members in the completion of their duties.
About you
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Previous guest/customer service experience to engage with the guests.
* You will have unlimited work rights in Australia.
* Flexibility to work various shifts including week‑ends, evenings and public holidays to meet our guests needs.
* A trade qualification is desirable though not essential.
* You will be self‑motivated, highly organised and enjoy being in a hands‑on environment.
* You will be a team player and display a friendly and positive can‑do attitude.
* Having energy and a positive attitude, a genuine customer service focus and a dedication to always getting the small details right.
