Responsibilities 
- Menu Planning : Create cost-effective menus that meet the daily operational needs and align with the goals of the establishment. 
- Cooking : Prepare a variety of dishes based on specified recipes and menu requirements. 
- Food Quality Assurance : Maintain high standards of food quality throughout preparation and final presentation. 
- Cost Management : Estimate food and labor costs while determining ingredient needs for efficient menu planning. 
- Ingredient Quality Control : Inspect vegetables and other ingredients prior to storage to ensure they meet quality standards. 
- Team Communication : Work collaboratively with managers and kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation processes. 
- Food Presentation : Enhance the visual appeal of dishes by preparing garnishes and decorative elements. 
- Knife Handling Skills : Use knives safely and efficiently, applying precise cutting techniques for fruits, vegetables, and meats. 
- Kitchen Organization : Prioritize tasks, manage workloads effectively, and maintain a clean, orderly kitchen environment. 
- Dish Execution : Ensure utensils are clean and well-arranged, and serve dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customers\' dietary needs and allergy considerations. 
- Food Storage Management : Store food at proper temperatures, monitor refrigerator and freezer contents, and rotate stock to ensure freshness. 
- Hygiene and Safety Compliance : Follow strict hygiene practices to prevent contamination, cross-infection, and foodborne illnesses. 
- Meat Handling : Clean, cut, and portion meats appropriately for various dishes. 
- Roasting Techniques : Prepare meats and vegetables using roasting methods suitable for diverse menu items. 
- Recipe Execution : Adhere to recipes while using professional judgment and various kitchen tools to prepare and cook meals, including sauce preparation and marination. 
- Equipment Use and Maintenance : Operate kitchen equipment safely, report malfunctions promptly, and label faulty appliances as needed. 
- Staff Training and Development : Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills, safety awareness, and overall kitchen efficiency. 
Qualifications & Experience 
- Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management 
- Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery would also be highly regarded 
- At least 15 months of relevant experience as a Chef
