The YRRS provides young people intensive individual and group based support that promotes resilience, interpersonal skills, enhanced social connections, life skills and access to the community.About the roleWe are seeking a supportive and resourceful Community Mental Health Practitioner for a permanent, part time (30 hours per week) opportunity in the Townsville area. You will work with clients, families and carers to help service users to return to a place of residence and a meaningful life supporting them through a staged approach to recovery through one-to-one support, shared supports, workshops and group work facilitation.Please note, this position requires the successful candidate to have flexibility to commit to a rotating roster including a mix of AM, PM, and sleep over shifts.Key responsibilitiesPurposefully engage with clients using techniques including: Brief intervention, Motivational interviewing and coaching, Family inclusive practice, Trauma informed practice, Conflict resolutionPlan and develop group work programs that will assist clients to build their skills, focus on their recovery and work towards transitioning back to their natural communitySupport family and carer roles through understanding their concerns and the provision of information, education and referralsMake linkages and build relationships and referral pathways to maintain or create a range of local supports for clientsContribute to the day to day operations of the residential service through undertaking a range of housekeeping dutiesWhat you’ll bringTertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.Hold current First Aid and CPR certificationsand perform these duties as required as part of the role.Proven experience in Youth Work, Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing or Healthcare or Government sectors is required.Experience in assessing need and working collaboratively to plan goal focused recovery using evidence informed approaches and tools.Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving.Able to provide a record of Vaccination Preventable Diseases or able to obtain vaccinations against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B or other diseases as required by our Partnership with QLD Health.Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Option to access Meal and Entertainment allowance up to $2,650 p.a. via Salary Packaging.Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Converge International,for you and your immediate family members.Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.Professional development through regular Practice Development sessions and coaching with your supervisorInterested?To apply visit Mind Careers - reference number 497684.
