Responsibilities
Compile loads to ensure most efficient use of drivers and equipment
Organise vehicles to cover all orders and requests
Ensure that all vehicles comply with customer and freight requirements
Internal and external customer liaison and advice
Preparation of loading/unloading documentation including manifests and compliance documentation
Preparation and analysis of external contractors run sheets and delivery advices for the purpose of performance management
Response and management of incidents relating to driver operations. This may include initial incident reports and subsequent investigation
Supervision of drivers to monitor and enforce general compliance with State and Federal Laws
Prepare and manage repairs and maintenance for company equipment
Participate in and contribute to operational toolbox meetings and OHS meetings
Provide prompt and effective response to all customer enquiries and concerns
Facilitate timely and accurate reports as required
Professional communication to key stakeholders including both written and oral means
What You'll Bring
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
The ability to direct and guide staff credibly
Ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems
Intimate knowledge of multi-purpose fleet including, prime movers, body trucks and specialist equipment
Understanding of and the ability to apply geographical knowledge to operations in order to effectively allocate and direct drivers
Transport background preferable but not mandatory, including a working knowledge and solid understanding of relevant policies and legislation
