About the role
Shining Bright Abilities' is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Support Worker to join our team in Kurri Kurri, NSW on a casual basis. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our clients by providing compassionate, person-centred care and support tailored to their individual needs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the local community.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
2. Accompanying clients to appointments, social outings, and community events
3. Providing emotional support and companionship to help our clients maintain their independence and quality of life
4. Delivering services in a way that promotes the client's rights, dignity, and wellbeing
5. Collaborating with the client, their families, and the broader care team to ensure a cohesive and effective support plan
6. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
What we're looking for
1. A genuine passion for working with people and a commitment to making a positive difference in their lives
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
3. Prior experience in a similar support worker or care-related role, preferably in the aged care or disability support sector is preferred but not essential
4. A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence
5. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
7. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach is a MUST.
