Grains Australia is experiencing exciting growth, and we're now seeking a Project Communication & Digital Specialist to join our team, on a permanent, full time basis.

If you're an experienced communications professional who can manage digital channels, events and project communications with confidence and minimal supervision, this could be the role for you.

What's In It For You

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growth stage for Grains Australia, and make a meaningful contribution to how Grains Australia communicates its work across the Australian and global grains industry.

Competitive salary in line with your experience.

Hybrid (in Perth office) or remote work arrangements available.

Rare opportunity to work for one of Australia's key industry bodies.

Make a significant contribution to Australia's grain sector.

Salary packaging options.

Access to training and professional development opportunities.

Free health services, including flu jabs, skin checks and health and wellbeing support.

About the Role

The Project Communications and Digital Specialist delivers high-quality digital content and coordinates project communication and extension activities that promote Grains Australia's work across the grains industry.

This hands‑on role balances ongoing digital content and communications with periods of intensive project-related event delivery, and requires someone who can manage multiple workstreams with consistent commitment, motivation and attention to detail.

Manage and elevate digital communication channels, including website, social media and email marketing, to enhance visibility and engagement.

Develop and implement content plans and campaigns for each channel.

Create, schedule and publish content in line with strategies and plans.

Monitor analytics across all digital platforms to identify opportunities and optimise performance.

Translate complex project outcomes and technical information into engaging communications for diverse stakeholder groups.

Coordinate project-related events such as seminar and webinar series, stakeholder workshops and industry events from planning to delivery.

Prepare event (and other) collateral, signage, presentations and promotional materials in line with brand standards.

Contribute creative ideas and practical solutions to improve communication delivery and event effectiveness.

About You

This role is suited to an experienced communications professional who is comfortable with a busy, hands‑on role, enjoys variety in their work, and can remain calm, organised and accurate during busy delivery periods.

You will have a strong ability to work independently to deliver outcomes, while also working closely and collaboratively with the Communications Manager and other teams within Grains Australia.

You'll bring a strong foundation in corporate and project communications, with the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging content that resonates with diverse stakeholder audiences.

Ideally you'll also bring:

A degree in a communications/marketing related field, or a combination of relevant work experience, education and/or training.

A minimum of seven years' experience in a similar communications and digital role is desired - less years of experience may be considered with exceptional relevant experience.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate project outputs and technical information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.

Experience coordinating virtual and in‑person events end to end, from planning, logistics, registrations and delivery.

Confidence managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.

Experience managing digital channels, including social media scheduling tools and email marketing platforms.

Thorough understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, trends, guidelines, and best practices.

Proven experience developing email marketing campaigns, creation and analysis.

Confidence to work autonomously, make decisions and manage your own workload in a hybrid or remote environment.

Strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset, with the ability to juggle priorities, anticipate needs and take ownership without close supervision.

Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with external stakeholders, including international audiences.

Proficiency in major industry digital tools and software packages, such as the Adobe Suite, social scheduling tools and email marketing platforms.

Confidence in tools like Zoom, Teams, and online engagement platforms.

Experience within the grain, agriculture or a closely aligned industry is desirable but not essential.
