Western Irrigation is looking for a reliable, customer-focused team member to join our Greenwood branch. Irrigation experience is preferred, but not essential, as value is placed in your ability to stay level-headed under pressure, provide excellent customer service, while maintaining a professional, friendly attitude with customers and colleagues
Based in our Greenwood Retail and Trade Shop, as an Irrigation Sales Assistant you'll support a diverse mix of retail, trade, government and agricultural clients with product enquiries, quotations and sales. This role is ideal for someone with a background in retail or customer service who enjoys problem-solving, working in a team, and delivering positive customer experiences. Full training, including product knowledge and company IT system operation, will be provided.
You'll work closely with our Purchasing & Sales Manager, as well as your shop colleagues and the warehouse team, receiving hands‑on support as you learn. You will also benefit from ongoing free industry training, professional development, and multiple career pathways.
Providing the highest level of customer service and sales support, the successful applicant will join an existing friendly retail sales and irrigation consultancy team, and be required to respond promptly to retail and trade customer enquiries, competently resolve any potential customer service issues, and provide practical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. You will be provided easy to follow training required to operate utilised Point of Sale software, and be required to undertake electronic data entry of sales orders and quotation documentation, whilst at all times maintaining a welcoming, friendly and well‑presented retail shop environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities
* Assisting onsite Purchasing and Sales Manager and wider sales team
* Confidently manage in‑store, phone, and email enquiries
* Electronic sales order processing and inventory management
* Provide accurate technical support to customers in the agricultural, residential and commercial sectors
* Develop your current skill set and industry knowledge, to provide ongoing support to clientele relating to irrigation system design and efficient operation
* Keep up to date with new and exciting industry products and their applications
Skillset We are Seeking in an Applicant for this Position
* A cool, calm and level‑headed approach when dealing with customers and busy periods
* Industry experience not essential, however the ideal applicant will have a demonstrated retail and/or customer service background & focus
* A team player who can also stay focused and execute required tasks without the need for constant supervision
* Ability to build rapport and maintain positive customer relationships
* Strong work ethic
* Complete tasks to the highest standard
* Clear and professional communication skills
* Ability to prioritise and multi‑task in a dynamic environment
* Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and engage in ongoing training
* A manual driver's licence (Class C) is preferred but not essential
* Ability to pass medical and random drug/alcohol screening
