Point Building Inspections is a well-established, WA-owned Independent Building Inspection & Pest Control company, dedicated to providing premium services across Perth, including West Swan, Caversham, Middle Swan, Brabham, Herne Hill, Lockridge, Beechboro, and Viveash.
We are currently seeking a Building Inspector to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
About the Role:
As a Building Inspector, you will work autonomously to ensure that both pre-purchase buildings and new builds comply with the relevant WA Building Codes.
Your primary focus will be on identifying major defects and instances of Building Code Non-Compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking photographic evidence during each inspection
Writing detailed reports based on your findings
Referring to appropriate Building Codes or Australian Standards
Must hold a current Builder's Registration (essential)
Computer proficiency is essential
Previous experience in pre-purchase building and construction progress inspections is advantageous
Certification for timber pest inspections is preferred
A background in a core trade such as bricklaying or roof carpentry is beneficial
Familiarity with the National Construction Code
Knowledge of specific Australian standards would be beneficial
A strong attention to detail
Enthusiastic, reliable, presentable, objective, and honest
Previous experience with digital reporting is desirable but not essential (training provided)
Excellent literacy and communication skills
Self-motivated with strong time management skills
Highly organized and able to multitask effectively
Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Proof of vaccination is required for site access and is a condition of employment
