Position InformationOxley Park Public School, a vibrant P-6 school situated in the heart of Western Sydney, comprises 24 mainstream classes and 2 Inclusive Learning classes supporting students with additional needs. Our school proudly acknowledges the Darug people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we learn and grow. With a diverse community of 644 students, 61% of whom come from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) background we celebrate the rich diversity in our school community. Our Aboriginal student population remains steady at 11% and is supported by a strong and engaged Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander parent community. Oxley Park Public School is supported by an active Parents and Citizens (P & C) association who contribute to and support school initiatives. As the first school in NSW to receive the prestigious Green Eco Flag, Oxley Park Public School leads in sustainability and environmental practices.Oxley Park Public School's Inclusive Learning Hub has been newly established in 2026. Currently, there is 1 class catering for students with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities. Each class is supported by an SLSO. The successful teacher will lead the second class which will support students classified as Multi-categorical.
Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach inclusive education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild to moderate intellectual disability and complex communication needs.
* Demonstrated ability to implement high-quality differentiated curriculum and develop effective individualised learning plans that enhance student engagement and promote high expectations for all.
* Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and authentic relationships with students, parents, colleagues, external agencies and the wider community to foster a supportive and positive learning environment.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education policies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
