MainStream Aquaculture is a rapidly growing aquaculture business that produces and sells Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) products in Australia and internationally. We are pleased to offer an opportunity for the right candidate to join our highly skilled and motivated aquaculture technical team. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be involved in the chill packing operations of Mainstream's industry leading fish production systems.
Position: Entry level Aquaculture technician working predominantly packing Barramundi for distribution throughout Australia. This is a full-time position with a requirement for working 10 hours shifts (4 days per week) and paid fortnightly. This position is suited for someone who is looking for professional development and growth in the aquaculture industry. We are looking for people who are dedicated, adaptable, work in a safe manner and are keen to learn.
Technician Responsibilities include:
* Loading fish onto tipper
* Packing fish into boxes
* Accurately weighing boxes and applying labels
* Icing and tapping boxes
* Palletising and packing stock for distribution
* Scaling of fish
* Accurate record keeping
* Maintaining a clean work environment
* Preparation of packaging
* Fulfilling all OH&S requirements
* Ensure the safe operation of all equipment used in plant operations
* Ensuring all hygiene standards are met for staff, machinery and all other equipment
* Ensuring adherence to HACCP and Food Safety Plan
* Any other duties as required by Mainstream
Professional Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a similar environment
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Strong sense of personal accountability, responsibility and teamwork
* Interest in the aquaculture industry
* Flexibility to work on varied tasks and rosters
* Public Holiday work is required
* Reliable on time and available to work early shifts
* Able to carry out physical work
* Forklift licence is desirable
