**Design Quality Manager**
**Fixed-term full-time contract to February 2026**
**Based in Pitt Street, Sydney up to 4 days in the office and wfh 1 day per week with flexibility**

If you excel in driving design excellence and ensuring quality outcomes in property development? Join Uniting's Property Development team as a **Design Quality Manager**, supporting our mission to create exceptional, inclusive spaces that meet community needs.

In this role, you will work closely with the Design Quality Manager and Development Managers, taking ownership of the design quality assurance process across Uniting's major capital projects. You will help establish and implement Uniting's Design Quality Assurance Process while managing the development, maintenance, and revision of our Design Guidelines.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- **Design Standards Development and Management**:
- Create, review, and maintain Uniting's Design Guidelines, ensuring they meet client needs, financial targets, and industry standards.
- Work with consultants and suppliers to develop cost-effective, fit-for-purpose design solutions, including FF&E specifications.
- Facilitate design meetings, track actions, and manage benchmarking data.
- **Design Quality Assurance**:
- Oversee the design review process from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with Uniting's standards and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Identify and address design risks, ensuring timely resolution to maintain project progress and quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design processes and changes.
- **Education and Innovation**:
- Educate internal and external stakeholders on Uniting's design processes and standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, integrating innovations into our guidelines and processes.
- Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and competitor analysis to inform future guidelines and ensure best practices.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership**:
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration to deliver exceptional outcomes.

**About you**:
**To thrive in this role, you will bring**:

- A degree in Architecture or Property Design Discipline and at least** 8 years** of post-graduate design experience.
- Expertise in medium-density (Class 2) buildings, accessibility standards, and aged care or retirement living design (preferred).
- Strong project management skills, with experience across the full lifecycle of projects from masterplanning to construction.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities.
- A passion for social change and creating spaces that make a difference in people's lives.

**Even better if you have**:

- Post-graduate qualifications in Design, Property Development, or related disciplines.
- Membership in relevant industry bodies.
- Registration as an Architect or Design Practitioner.
