Overview
Gema Aviation is currently looking for someone who is passionate about Hospitality, delivering exceptional customer service and building a great team. The position will report to the Lounge Manager and will work between approx. 24 - 30 hours per week including weekends. Gema Aviation is part of the Gema Group company and we are a specialist hospitality business catering to various venues, large retail and corporate events as well as corporate functions all over Australia.
The roster is currently 24 - 30 hours per week with the potential for additional hours due to flight delays. Permanent part-time Level 5 pay rate as per the Hospitality Industry General Award. Days and hours may occasionally change to meet any operational or flight schedule changes. The successful applicant must be flexible to work across various days and hours of the airport operation but weekend work will be required across your working days.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of the day to day food and beverage operations.
* Hands on duties include: buffet duties, basic food preparation, lounge cleaning, clearing tables and providing an exceptional customer experience.
* Assist the lounge manager with stock control and ordering, staff management, rostering, recruitment and training and financial reporting.
* Ensure our high standards of customer service and satisfaction are maintained.
* Assist with rostering and other administrative tasks when required.
* Assist with food and beverage ordering and inventory control.
* Maintain a safe and collaborative team environment and support business growth opportunities.
Qualifications
* Sound knowledge of food safety legislation
* Current RSA certificate
* Minimum 2 years experience as a food and beverage team leader/supervisor
* Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of hospitality supervision experience in any relevant setting
* Must be eligible to obtain an ASIC clearance (airport security identification card) and police clearance
* Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
* Exceptional grooming and presentation
* Customer service skills that are the highest standard
* Must be able to work well under pressure and multi task as well as prioritise duties
* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook
* Licenses/Certifications: Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (Required); Food Safety for Supervisor Certificate (Preferred)
* A Food Safety for Supervisor Certificate is preferred but not mandatory for this position
* Experience: Supervising experience: 2 years (Required); Customer service: 3 years (Required); Hospitality: 4 years (Required)
* Work Location: In person at the Hobart Airport - Qantas Lounge
