About the role

As a Paralegal in the Civil Law Division, you will provide high‐level clerical, administrative and legal support to legal officers to assist in the delivery of quality legal services to clients. Working under supervision, you will support the provision of advice, legal assistance and casework across a range of civil law matters.

You will assist with legal research, preparing documents such as chronologies and briefs to counsel, drafting correspondence and submissions, facilitating referrals, and document management. You will also support legal officers with tasks associated with outreach and other service delivery activities as required.

The role involves regular liaison with clients and a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the private profession, counsel, and government and community agencies. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload are essential.

About you

You will bring demonstrated experience in a similar role, providing clerical, administrative and legal support to solicitors and stakeholders. You are a confident and professional communicator with a meticulous eye for detail, enabling you to deliver accurate, timely and client focused support.

You will be responsible for collating legal and court documentation, assisting with the preparation and filing of court documents. Your communication style enables you to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, providing information and support in a clear and respectful manner.

You are organised, self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to plan and prioritise work, manage competing deadlines and respond effectively to changing priorities. You enjoy working collaboratively, think creatively to solve problems, and take pride in delivering high quality outcomes in a demanding environment.
