ACT Decks is a leading residential construction company specialising in high-quality custom decks and outdoor living spaces. As part of ACT Construction Group, we pride ourselves on strong systems, quality workmanship and delivering an exceptional client experience.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and capable Project Manager to join our team and take ownership of projects from initial quote through to completion.
The Role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end Project Management role.
You will attend client site visits, prepare and build quotes using Buildxact, manage client communication, order materials, and oversee the team onsite to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
You will work closely with our Project Manager and Director, playing a key role in maintaining workflow, quality control and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend site visits and client consultations
* Measure and assess project scope
* Prepare and build detailed quotes using Buildxact software (or similar software)
* Communicate clearly and professionally with clients throughout the quoting and construction process
* Order materials and coordinate deliveries
* Schedule and manage trades and labour onsite
* Supervise construction progress and maintain quality standards
* Identify and manage variations where required
* Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
* Work collaboratively with the Project Manager and Director
* Liaise with certifiers and ensure projects comply with relevant approval requirements
About You
* 3+ years' experience in residential construction (decking or carpentry highly regarded)
* Experience using Buildxact (or similar estimating/project management software)
* Strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials
* Understanding of building approvals and government requirements
* Experience liaising with private certifiers and managing compliance processes
* Confident in speaking with clients and building strong relationships
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages
* Proactive problem-solver who can work independently
* Qualified Carpenter
* White Card, Silica awareness, Asbestos awareness and current Australian Drivers license required
