The Opportunity
The School of Science, Technology and Engineering at the University of the Sunshine Coast is seeking a dynamic early‑career academic to join the Mathematics discipline as an Associate Lecturer. This role offers an opportunity to deliver core mathematics courses, coordinate curriculum, and develop an emerging research profile.
You will:
* deliver high‑quality mathematics teaching across a range of modes, including lectures and tutorials, and provide effective assessment and feedback to support student success;
* contribute to the coordination, design, and continuous improvement of mathematics courses and curriculum materials using inclusive and evidence‑based teaching practices;
* develop an emerging research profile by participating in collaborative research projects and contributing to peer‑reviewed publications and scholarly activities;
* engage in academic administration, service, and outreach activities that enhance the student experience and support the goals of the School and University.
About you
You are an enthusiastic early‑career academic with a strong commitment to mathematics education and student success. You bring developing teaching experience, an emerging research trajectory, and a collegial approach to working within a collaborative academic team. You are motivated to grow as both an educator and researcher, and you value inclusive, respectful, and ethical academic practice.
You will possess
* Completion or near‑completion of a doctoral qualification in Mathematics or a closely related discipline;
* Experience delivering mathematics lectures and/or tutorials, with evidence of positive student engagement;
* An emerging research profile, demonstrated through peer‑reviewed publications and/or conference presentations;
* The capacity to contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices;
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach that supports a positive academic environment;
* A commitment to ongoing academic development in teaching, research, and service.
