Senior Mechanical Designer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to our Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating detailed technical drawings and documentation, with a focus on the design of buoyancy mould tooling for a variety of projects within the resources, civil, and defence sectors.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 7 years' experience in Mechanical Design
* Qualifications in drafting, engineering, or mechanical trade background
* Proficient in preparing 3D models and drawings, using Solidworks
* Experience with the Resource sector
In addition, the following would be considered highly advantageous:
* Demonstrated experience in composite product design
* Knowledge of applicable drafting standards
* Ability to work autonomously and work on several projects concurrently
* High attention to detail
* Sound interpersonal and communication skills
* Well versed with the Microsoft office suite of products

Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
* Preparation of technical documents, such as proposal drawings, operation manuals, test plans, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
* Maintaining clarity and precision in technical information and providing clear manufacturing instructions.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and manage project expectations.
* Serve as a point of contact for technical design inquiries.
* Support the Quality team in inspecting manufactured components.
* Ensuring adherence to applicable standards in all design activities.
* Implementation of rigorous document control procedures to ensure traceability and currency of all technical documentation.
* Participation in the FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) process.
* Conduct testing on prototypes and analyse test data.
