Computer Network Technician Job Summary
This is a dynamic opportunity to join our team as a skilled Computer Network Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, and peripheral equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate access and use of computer networks
* Install software
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, computer workstations, and peripheral equipment
* Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
* Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade web server hardware and software
* Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
* Provide problem-solving services to network users
* Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
* Perform routine network start-up and shutdown and maintain control records
* Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
* Set up LANs and connections to the Internet
* Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance
* Respond to requests for help and information from website visitors and designers
* Perform web-server backup and recovery operations
* Supervise technical staff
Requirements:
* Education: College/CEGEP
* Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a related field
* Authorized to work in Canada
