Family Worker
Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm; Summer hours 10:00 am - 3:00 pm)
Location: Passaic, NJ
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Family Worker will assist in coordinating services offered to youth aged 9 to 17. Participants are referred by local schools, families, custodial parents, and community organizations. Services include tutoring, behavior modification, individual and group guidance, home and school visits, and referrals for additional support and counseling.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Implement the service plan developed with CFCS-HIC and referring agencies, focusing on identified needs, goals, and objectives (e.g., tutoring, anger management, gang involvement, conflict resolution).
* Document participants' progress and report monthly to the supervisor.
* Participate in home visits to meet with parents and discuss program goals, offering agency services as needed.
* Conduct training sessions and workshops on behavior modification skills.
* Assist participants in developing social skills and encourage responsibility towards themselves and society.
* Collaborate with team members to plan recreational activities, workshops, and presentations.
* Maintain accurate files, progress notes, and attendance records.
* Supervise participants and enforce program rules and policies.
* Provide transportation for youth to various locations using the agency vehicle.
* Attend meetings, trainings, and perform other duties as assigned to support agency operations.
Qualifications:
* Associate's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
* At least two years of experience working with youth in urban settings.
* Valid New Jersey Driver's License required.
* Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required.
