Salary Classification: Health Service Manager Level 1 – 2 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Remuneration: $53.53 – 63.16 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's
The Role We are looking for a qualified Health Information Specialist to join our Health Information team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-level assistance and support to the operational management of Health Information services, including records management, release of information, clinical forms management, and activity reporting. You will work alongside the senior management team to ensure work targets are met. New graduates will be considered if they meet the essential requirements and demonstrate the ability to develop in the role.
Key Responsibilities Undertake routine audits for key functional areas including clinical forms, medical records management, documentation, and release of information in line with accreditation standards. Develop and review procedure manuals and policies, and implement changes in consultation with the manager. Assist in the implementation of SDPR for Calvary Mater Newcastle and archival strategies. Work with a multidisciplinary team to oversee the correction of non-admitted patient data and accurately capture activity. Train staff in key functional areas as required. About You Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management, Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS), Health Service Management, Public Health, or equivalent, or working towards such a degree. Technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and report on trends. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with electronic and paper-based health records systems, patient administration systems, and related procedures. Ability to engage with stakeholders including administration staff, nursing, and medical specialists, and to work as part of a team.
