Experienced Farm Hand

Greenham Tasmania Pastoral is seeking an experienced Farmhand to join the team at "Westmore", Marrawah. Westmore is one of the larger agricultural holdings in the Circular Head area of north west Tasmania and one of the key suppliers to the well-known Cape Grim Beef brand, processed at nearby Smithton. Westmore is a well maintained property primarily focused on beef fattening.
The successful applicant should:
· Have sound knowledge of best practice WH&S practices, Farm Safety and will be required to adhere to our company policies and procedures.
· Possess or be prepared to acquire ChemCert AQF accreditation and be prepared to participate in further training as required.
· Be experienced in handling large numbers of beef cattle with a low stress attitude. A sound knowledge of animal husbandry and effective animal welfare practices will be required.
· Have a good understanding of Grass Management under a rotational farming system.
· The ability to operate, maintain, and repair (minor) a range of farm machinery.
· Be experienced with electric fencing systems and general farm maintenance.
· Hold a current driver's licence.
· Regular overtime and rostered weekend work are required as part of this position.
You will be self-motivated with strong initiative and drive and with high attention to detail and gain satisfaction from getting things done right, the first time. These skills are matched by your ability to keep the team informed through your effective communication skills across farms. Your competent computer skills allow you to navigate and use MS Applications and Gallagher TSI to support your hands on activities.
