per annum plus % SuperannuationLocation: Morwell, VictoriaDepartment: Creative Venues, Events and TourismThe RoleWe're seeking a dynamic Creative Community Engagement & Placemaking Specialist to lead the development and implementation an integrated creative community engagement strategy across all creative venues, public spaces, and cultural programs within the municipality.Key responsibilities:Develop and implement a cohesive creative engagement strategy across venues and public spaces.Lead placemaking projects including public art, installations, and temporary activations.Deliver programs that connect diverse audiences with the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) and Latrobe Regional Gallery (LRG).
Build strategic partnerships with First Nations communities, schools, businesses, and arts organisations.Lead and implement a membership program across creative venues to grow participation and repeat visitation.Drive and support innovative approaches to audience development, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility across all creative programs.Oversee the coordination of seasonal and civic activations, including Christmas displays and community celebrations.Provide strategic direction and leadership in First Nations artistic engagement, supporting cultural representation and community -led initiatives.About YouWe are seeking someone with advanced knowledge of placemaking principles with proven experience in public art coordination and implementing creative activation strategies that enhance public spaces and foster community connection.You will have:Tertiary qualification in Arts Management, Cultural Development, Community Engagement, Urban Planning or a related field, or substantial experience in creative placemaking and community engagement initiatives across both traditional venues and public spaces.Demonstrated experience in delivering cultural engagement programs, public art initiatives or performing arts outreach as well as relevant budgeting, funding compliance, evaluation frameworks and outcome reporting.Developed project management capabilities in cultural program delivery, including budgeting, grant and funding compliance, evaluations, acquittals and reporting.Strong relationship-building skills with experience engaging First Nations communities, schools, artists, and community groups.
