About Our Electronics Engineering Role
We're seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of our robot's electrical system, from early architecture decisions to production-grade execution. This is a rare opportunity to join our team as we take our humanoid companion robot from early access to global scale.
This role involves architecting and delivering production-ready electronics, ensuring our hardware is robust, reliable, and emotionally expressive. You'll collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and industrial design teams to seamlessly integrate sensors, power systems, and embedded platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Architect and deliver production-ready electronics, from concept through to manufacturing.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors, power systems, and embedded platforms.
* Own schematic and PCB layout, with best-in-class practices around grounding, power integrity, and DFM.
* Conduct in-depth circuit analysis and debugging to refine our robot's performance.
* Support transition to volume manufacturing, including QA, compliance, and supplier coordination.
* Write embedded firmware to bring up systems and enable real-time responsiveness.
* Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers, building a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Bachelor's/Master's/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
* 5+ years of professional electronics engineering experience, with proven expertise in both high-speed board design and robust power regulation/distribution.
* Proficiency with Altium for schematic and PCB layout, demonstrating a meticulous approach to signal integrity and manufacturability.
* Comprehensive hands-on experience in circuit analysis, debugging, and validation, using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and simulation tools.
* Familiarity with embedded programming, enabling efficient collaboration across firmware development and microcontroller integration.
* In-depth understanding of short-circuit protection, switching power supplies, and innovative power management methods.
* Working knowledge of mechanical CAD, illustrating the ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical designers on seamless system integration.
* Proven track record of supporting manufacturing and supply chain processes, overseeing transition to volume production, and driving design-for-manufacturability.
* A passion for mentoring junior engineers and fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
Benefits
As a Senior Electronics Engineer at our company, you'll enjoy:
* A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
* The opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact.
* A collaborative and dynamic work environment.
* Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
