About The Role
The Parks & Gardens Branch cares for an extensive network of public open spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant, safe and inviting for community use. The team manages diverse recreational environments, playgrounds, trails, parklands and more, balancing environmental preservation with the delivery of exceptional outdoor experiences across the Sunshine Coast region.
As a Parks Infrastructure Compliance Support Officer, You Will
* Conduct inspections, audits and handovers of recreational assets
* Attend pre‐start and post‐construction meetings and document outcomes
* Provide technical and compliance advice aligned with standards and building codes
* Support the audit process and negotiate solutions for non‐compliance issues
* Record and update asset data using Council management systems
* Maintain accurate public records including plans, manuals and documentation
* Monitor inspection schedules and ensure timely follow‐up of required actions
* Assist in identifying assets nearing end‐of‐life and contribute to renewal scoping
* Support contract administration for playground inspections and maintenance
* Deliver routine visual inspections and assist with training others in RVI processes
About You
* Bring a solid understanding of asset management principles and technical specifications.
* Be confident interpreting and applying Australian Standards for recreational infrastructure.
* Hold (or can obtain) qualifications in Level 3 Comprehensive Playground Safety Inspections.
* Be comfortable using digital tools and systems and have strong general computer skills.
* Have practical trade experience or equivalent hands‐on technical capability.
* Have communication skills to help you collaborate effectively with contractors and staff alike.
* Excel at problem solving and enjoy working through compliance and operational challenges.
* Be adaptable, proactive and open to learning in a fast‐moving outdoor environment.
* Consistently work to high standards and take pride in delivering safe community spaces.
