Pricing Actuary – Product, Pricing and Portfolio Management
We are seeking a Pricing Actuary to join our specialist Retirement pricing team. The role focuses on the design and pricing of new retirement products, building business cases for new initiatives, and developing models to price structures that meet commercial requirements while delivering value to customers.
This is a permanent role based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements.
In this role you will:
- Understand commercial drivers of the Investments business unit, including participating and unit‐linked product portfolios.
- Contribute to long‐term business plans and provide analysis of business impacts of product and pricing changes.
- Work with stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal and Operations to implement product, pricing and system changes that simplify our product portfolio.
- Support the implementation of product and system changes to accommodate regulatory change.
- Perform member remediation calculations.
- Support technology and operations teams with business‐as‐usual processes such as annual statement production.
- Run pricing models and analyse results.
- Contribute to product development and develop existing and new models to price innovative product structures.
- Understand trends in the Australian retirement market, including changing regulation, the advice ecosystem, and competitor products.
- Conduct analysis of longevity experience.
- Calculate net payments due to clients and reinsurers.
- Complete analysis of profit.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries in Australia.
- Knowledge of superannuation and retirement solutions, including the market they operate within.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with life investment and retirement products such as annuities.
