What you'll do:
Drive Revenue & Governance Impact: Drive end-to-end sales and delivery of high-value data governance and AI risk engagements — from opportunity identification and client engagement through to framework embedment and programme expansion, owning both revenue targets and delivery profitability across a portfolio of enterprise clients. Oversee the full delivery lifecycle including governance design, policy development, operating model implementation, quality assurance, and client acceptance across multiple concurrent engagements.
Lead Teams & Build Strategic Relationships: Lead cross-functional teams (regulatory, technical, and consulting) in designing and deploying enterprise-grade AI governance and data management frameworks while building strategic relationships with C-suite and board-level stakeholders, positioning PwC as the trusted AI risk advisor in the market. Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery through resource allocation, risk management, and proactive issue resolution while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
Establish Frameworks, Policy & Market Strategy: Establish delivery best practices, AI risk and data governance frameworks, and go-to-market strategies that enable responsible AI adoption, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business growth. Lead the development of methodologies and thought leadership aligned to Australia's evolving AI governance landscape — including APRA prudential standards, ASIC guidance, the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles, and the Australian Government's Guidance for AI Adoption — driving continuous improvement in team capabilities to scale practice excellence.
What we're looking for:
Domain Expertise, Sales & Delivery Leadership: Significant experience (10+ years) in data governance, AI risk, model risk management, or regulatory compliance, with a proven track record of closing enterprise engagements and delivering complex, multi-phase programmes with demonstrable client outcomes. Deep knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment including APRA prudential standards (CPS 230, CPG 235), ASIC's AI governance guidance for financial services, and obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. Familiarity with data management standards (DAMA-DMBOK), AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023, and Australia's AI Ethics Principles is highly regarded. Experience with multinational clients navigating the EU AI Act is advantageous.
Business & Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise business processes and the ability to translate governance and risk challenges into actionable strategies and business cases; solid grasp of AI/ML concepts, GenAI technologies (LLMs, agentic frameworks), and data architecture sufficient to credibly engage technical teams and guide client stakeholders through complex governance design and AI risk assessment decisions. Understanding of automated decision-making transparency obligations under Australia's Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 is an advantage.
Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, mentor talent, communicate complex risk and governance concepts to non-technical executives, and navigate complex stakeholder environments in fast-paced, regulated industries. Experience building and scaling high-performing consulting practices and contributing to firm-wide eminence, thought leadership, and capability development.
What you'll gain:
The opportunity to shape the responsible AI agenda for leading Australian and global organisations, working on some of the most consequential governance and risk challenges in the market.
Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work, balancing what's best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.
Clear paths for career progression to Partner, supported by continuous learning, leadership development, and access to PwC's global network.
Generous leave entitlements including four weeks' annual leave and float public holidays to support your work-life balance.
