Optical Dispensing Role
We are a small, independent optometry practice looking for someone who shares our values of care, warmth, and professionalism to join us.
This is a dual role that blends patient-facing optical dispensing with administrative and business development tasks. You'll be helping patients choose the right glasses, handling orders, and providing excellent service, while also assisting behind the scenes with administration, billing, and marketing work.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their needs
* Place and track optical and contact lens orders
* Perform fittings, adjustments and basic repairs
* Maintain accurate patient records and referral documentation
* Support the optometrists with patient needs
* Support patients at collection and ensure they are happy with their vision
Administrative & Business Development:
* Manage reminders and follow-ups
* Process Medicare/private health fund claims, payments and daily banking
* Track supplier invoices, orders and stock levels
* Assist with basic bookkeeping
* Help with marketing tasks such as social media posts & scheduling, newsletters, and in-house marketing resources
* Assist with online order processing and postage
You will be working closely with our team of optometrists to provide exceptional eye care services to our patients. If you have experience in optical dispensing, healthcare, or customer service, it's an advantage. However, we're also happy to train the right person.
To succeed in this role, you must be warm, personable, organised and detail-focused, adaptable and comfortable switching between patient care and behind-the-scenes work, trustworthy and reliable, confident with software systems, and willing to learn new skills.
