The Glen Innes Severn Council is seeking a high-calibre leader to drive the planning section and oversee development assessments. This full-time role involves assessing and determining development applications in accordance with legislation and internal KPIs.
Key responsibilities include leading and supervising the planning team, coordinating input from multidisciplinary teams and consultants during assessments, and preparing high-quality planning reports. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as experience in court representation and supervising staff.
In addition to a competitive salary up to A$120,000 + Super, the position offers relocation assistance (up to A$5,000), flexible and hybrid work arrangements, remote work options within NSW, and a range of benefits including study support and paid maternity and parental leave.
Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
* At least 3 years' experience in statutory planning within local government.
* Current Class C driver's licence.
* Strong working knowledge of NSW planning legislation and the ability to apply it practically.
