The organisation
The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) is the peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child protection and the Queensland Youth Justice Peak. QATSICPP represents Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations delivering child protection and family wellbeing services, as well as youth justice funded organisations working across the youth justice system in Queensland.
QATSICPP works alongside its member organisations, government and sector partners to strengthen community-led systems that support the safety, wellbeing and self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families across the state.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Strategy & Systems, the General Manager, Strategic Services is a senior executive leadership role responsible for leading QATSICPP's policy, research, data, evaluation and communications functions. The role will shape the organisation's strategic framework and strengthen the evidence base that informs sector reform and advocacy.
* Lead strategic services including policy, research, data, evaluation and communications
* Oversee evidence-based research and evaluation that informs sector reform and advocacy
* Develop policy positions and submissions that influence government and system reform
* Lead strategic communications that amplify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and sector priorities
About you
You are a strategic leader with strong policy and research capability and a deep understanding of complex social policy environments.
* Senior leadership experience in policy, research, advocacy or strategic services
* Knowledge of child protection, youth justice or early years policy environments
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations or sectors
* Strong executive communication and stakeholder engagement capability
* Tertiary qualification in business, policy, public administration or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
