Wildflower Kitchen is located inside Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana Waters. We are a 4.5-star full‑service hotel, open 24/7 located next to Sunshine Coast University Hospitals. The restaurant is open 7 days for Breakfast and Dinner. Our kitchen team provides a consistent and high quality standard of food to our guests.
To be successful in this role you will need a creative flair, be adventurous and versatile in your approach to cooking and have the ability to draw upon flavours of modern cuisine. This is a casual role, working a spread of shifts over a 7‑day roster; including weekdays, weekends, nights and public holidays.
Responsibilities
* Hands‑on approach to food service within the kitchen whilst maintaining high levels of service on a daily basis;
* Strong focus on quality and stock control;
* Continuation of set procedures to create consistent practices within the kitchen;
* Maintaining strong team morale and cooperate with the effective training of apprentices, trainees and dish‑washing personnel;
* The ability to adapt to different kitchen requirements and work alongside a diverse team of professionals; and
* Maintain a clean, tidy and well prepared service area.
Ideal Candidate
* A can‑do, responsible, and flexible approach to work;
* A strong work ethic and a passion for preparing high‑quality food;
* The ability to maintain high workloads, and meet deadlines within specific time frames;
* Prior experience desired in staging outstanding food services in a restaurant or hotel setting;
* An ability to thrive under pressure and work as a team in a high‑paced environment;
* A great sense of style and immaculate presentation and grooming;
* Attainment of the necessary Food Handler's certificate; and
* Initiative, commitment and passion for your job;
* The ability to work under pressure and work on your feet for long periods;
* A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety.
