Civil Design Officer Job Description
Our organization seeks an experienced Civil Design Officer to join our team for a 12-month contract. This role is based in Midland WA and offers a challenging opportunity to work on various civil infrastructure projects.
* The Civil Design Officer will be responsible for designing complex civil infrastructure projects, including:
* Roads
* Drainage
* Linemarking plans
* Carparks
The successful candidate will have the ability to apply specialist technical knowledge, particularly in AustRoads design guidelines, Main Roads WA guidelines, and relevant Australian Standards. They must also prepare detailed Bills of Quantities at each stage of the design process and deliver designs on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and unbiased technical advice, and responding to enquiries in a timely and professional manner are essential skills for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing smaller but still complex civil infrastructure projects
* Ensuring all designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines
* Preparing detailed Bills of Quantities at each stage of the design process
* Reviewing and checking their own designs prior to Senior Civil Designer review
* Delivering designs on time, within budget, and to the required quality
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and unbiased technical advice, and responding to enquiries in a timely and professional manner
